My crazy dogs chase anything and everything that flies. I found a dead bird in my front yard the other day. I think for them its the thrill of the chase while I’m not sure if the cats would kill for the thrill or the meal.
There have been times we’ve found the cats playing with something, only to find out it was a mouse or something. They aren’t interested in eating it. Just playing with it! 😦 I do intervene when they’ve got a pygmy shrew. Those are actually beneficial to have around.
My son and I have rescued mice from our indoor cat. I know when she has one due to the fact she has this “I am warrior hear me roar” type growl. I can’t stand to see her torment anything. Well, spiders, she can torment spiders.
Pretty birds.

I love watching the birds at the feeder out back, but I feel that I am going to have to move it due to cats going so far as to sit under it waiting….

Our cats do that, too. And yes, they do get the odd bird. Not very frequently, thankfully.

Yeah, if they just killed and ate them, it wouldn’t bother me. It’s when they get cruel about it… 😦

Funny, though, we actually like spiders. They help keep the other bugs down! 😁
