Critter of the Day: Queen of the Trees!

Got two for you, today!

We saw a whole bunch of movement out the window, and discovered it was Butterscotch, chasing Beep Beep.

Beep Beep is a much better climber than Butterscotch, who never got more than a few feet off the ground.  Beep Beep, on the other hand, is about 20-25 feet up, in this pictures.

Beep Beep, the mighty huntress – queen of all she surveys!

Critter of the Day: whoa!

One of the joys of being able to take many pictures, very quickly, using a digital camera, is getting those split-second shots.

This may well be the bleppiest of tongue bleps, I’ve ever managed to catch!

Critter of the Day: this is my good side

Beep Beep is such a poser!

I sometimes wonder if she actually expects to catch any birds while up on the platform feeder, or if she’s just there for the view.

Merry Christmas!

Critter of the Day: I herd you!

We’ve got a duo that visits regularly, and a trio – and sometimes, they all come at once!

I don’t know what has their attention out there, but I do know that sometimes, they get the attention of people driving by on the road!  There isn’t much that can be seen through the lilac bushes along the fence, but it’s enough that I’ve seen people stop, turn around at the intersection, and slowly make their way back again, slowly.

Time like that, I think of the kinds of trees we’ll be planting as a windbreak all long the fence line.

We may be in the boonies, but sometimes it’s not boonies enough for me! :-D

Critter of the Day: Black Capped Chickadee

I’ve uploaded another batch of photos from the camera in the living room.  I’m so happy!  There were so many good shots, it was hard to choose which ones to post.  I’ll be putting them up, little by littler, over the next few days.

First up, we’ve got this adorable little puff ball.

I’m not usually able to catch the birds while they’re in the lilac bushes.  The camera on its tripod is set up facing the feeding station.  By the time I’ve spotted a bird in a spot I can see with the camera (sometimes, that means quickly tilting over the tripod!) and turn the camera, they’re usually gone.  They do not stay anywhere for long!

:-D

Critter of the day: DahBoy

It occurred to me that I post lots of pictures of the outside cats, but almost none of the inside cats!

Then I tried to take pictures of them and realized why. They keep sticking their faces into the lens.

But I got a good one!

I remember when we first saw him, after his mom dragged him from who-knows-where, up to our balcony. He was the tiniest ball of fluff with a bright pink nose that had an itty bitty dark splotch on it. The spot got darker and bigger as he grew, and new ones appeared. I still love his splotchy little snoot!
