My daughter had her first Sunday shift today; at only 4 hours long, we left later and I simply stayed in town until she was done. As we were getting ready to head out, I popped out to see if there were any cats to say hello to. I saw none, but heard a noise … Continue reading Bonus critter pictures, and hospital updates
Another one of the photos of some strange deer my daughter caught, earlier this month. This is the deer with the antler nubbins she saw. My daughter knows me well - she knew I would love it if she got a tongue blep for me! 😀
As of today, it is now official. We are a two vehicle household. Sort of. I was able to register my mother's car in my name, but it's still her car. This means that, if she needs help to get to an appointment or go grocery shopping, I can use her car, instead of her … Continue reading It’s official… sort of
Something I've noticed since the days have started to get - and stay - warmer; the birds are a lot more chill. Instead of the flurry of activity as they grab seeds and fly away, they've been more likely to just sit there, all relaxed, taking it easy It makes for some lovely photo opportunities! … Continue reading Critter of the Day: relaxed
This morning, we were greeted with falling snow and just enough of a wind to be annoying. 😀 The outside cats were not impressed. The last few days had been warm enough that there wasn't even surface ice on the water bowls. Even this morning, the water was only half frozen. Still, that wind made … Continue reading Spring is fickle!
Several of the outside cats just love sitting in the platform bird feeder, and just snoozing in the sun. Rolando Moon is one of these. 🙂 While I suspect she is making that face because of the bright sun in her eyes, the reality is, she usually this ticked off look on her face. 😀
Some mornings are a lot more exciting than others. That's not always a good thing! I just had to get a tire replaced on that van this morning - and probably should not have been driving on it at all! For a bit of background. When we bought the van, it was a recent trade … Continue reading Well, now… that was an unexpected adventure!
My daughter saw a strange group of deer coming into the feeding area and got some shots for me. Including this deer with larger antler nubs than the little guy that normally visits with his mum. 🙂
Today was our Costco shopping day. This was my splurge for the month. 🙂 We'd seen some last year and came very close to buying one, but decided against it. I'm glad; I think this year's model is much better! Mason bees are a local variety, so it's one that we want to encourage. Especially … Continue reading Bee-utiful!
One nice thing about no leaves on the lilacs this time of year; we can see the birds in them, better. 🙂 Things are quite a bit warmer, as I post this photo; the chickadees look so much smaller, now that they don't have to puff themselves up like this! 🙂
