I can certainly see where the saying comes from! Though if those are bitty antler nubbins I'm seeing, this isn't a doe at all, but "buckeyed beauty" just doesn't have the same ring to it!

On the look out for danger! Or one of the yard cats...
We don't put a lot of feed out (it looks like more, because warmer temperatures have uncovered old, snow covered feed), so when we get so many deer at once, it's nice when they share. On the day this photo was taken, about 5 deer came to the feeding station. There were 7 in total.
"Who's that over there?"
There is something about the shape of this deer's brow that gives it the most tragic expression!
