Frosty

Looks like it was warm enough for a fog last night.  This morning, the trees were covered in hoarfrost.

It was like something out of a postcard.

Beep Beep was not impressed.

I was also escorted by Butterscotch and Rolando Moon.  Butterscotch wanted to be carried the whole time.  She did NOT want to be put down so I could take photos.  When I was finished with taking pictures, I would find her sitting on my boot, to stay out of the snow! :-D

Tracks and Trails

It snowed most of the night, which means that when I did my outside stuff this morning, the only tracks in the snow were those of animals.  It was interesting to follow them along, and try and figure out what story they were telling. Continue reading

Well… at least they like it!

Since re-arranging the set up for the outside cats, we’ve been checking out the bathroom window, to see how they’ll take to it.

In my case, that involves holding my phone up to take pictures, because I’m too short to actually see that area through the window.  :-D

Looks like they have a new favourite cuddle spot! Continue reading

Winter(ish) Morning Routine

Things are much, much less active, now that the yard work is done for the year!  We’re settling in to an indoor routine, which is pretty domestic.

I am enjoying the relative peace and quiet.

Now… I am NOT a morning person.  Never have been.

But we have critters to feed, and I have my morning rounds to do.

Thankfully, there are things that make it worthwhile. :-D Continue reading

We got invaded

I go this photo this evening, of three deer showing up at the feeding station.  It was getting a bit too dark for photos (we’re fully dark by 5:30, these days), but I did manage a couple.

None of them are the ones we’ve been seeing for the past while.

Less than 10 minutes after I took this, more showed up.  By the time I got back to the window, there was 4 at the feeding station, a 5th one had been chased off, and two more were under the crab apple tree!

So we’ve gone from having 1 or 2 show up at a time, to an entire herd!

Maybe time to start leaving more than just an ice cream bucket full of deer feed. :-D
