Stress tested

It’s been a long day out, today!

I had an appointment at a nearby city to do a stress test. Part of the ongoing testing to try and figure out why my stamina has dropped so severely since last summer, and trace the source of my fatigue. This is one of the tests to see if there might be problems with my heart.

Much better, this time

Well, I’m certainly glad I was able to finish clearing out that old tire planter when I did, because it started raining that night, and it’s been raining on and off ever since.

So much so, we even found mushrooms starting to grow on one of the maple logs stacked behind the house!

Just a bit more…

I wasn’t able to get back to working on getting the tire planter out (I can wiggle it a bit more, though! :-D ), but yesterday evening I decided to deadhead the spirea by the storage house.

Interesting find, and medical update

While doing my rounds yesterday evening, checking the eastern fence line in the spruce grove, something bright and red caught my eye.

There are quite a few bright red rose hips in the area, but these were completely different.

I tried to use the Lens app on my phone to identify them, but we get no signal – data or wifi – out there, so I wasn’t able to get a search result until I was by the house.

Apparently, we have American Cranberry growing among our spruces!

Which, apparently, are not true cranberries at all!

I went back this morning to get a better look, and take some photos.

Bonus Critter, pre-op update and more

My daughter and I were coming home when I spotted something on the road, right at the corner I was turning at.

A red sided garter snake!

I was very happy to see it; I’ve seen so very few this year.

Unfortunately, it wouldn’t move away.

My daughter got out and tried to shoo it off the road, and at first it started to cross, but then it decided to go for the big shady spot.

Under the van.

I had just started to move again, too, but she quickly signaled me to stop.

The little bugger just curled up behind my tire and would not move!

It’s been a few days

I haven’t made a solid post in a while, so it’s time to catch up on things.

The short version is pretty simple.

I’m tired.

So tired.

Which is actually one of the reasons I bit the bullet and saw the doctor a few days ago.
