A strange find

Whenever I am able to go to the beach, I keep an eye out for interesting things. Especially for things for my daughter’s collection. We sometimes joke about her habit of picking up random things she finds on the ground! :-D

The last time I was at the beach, I made an unusual find that I thought was funny enough to take a picture to send to her.

I wasn’t actually going to pick it up, though…

Now, what I found funny was how the sea shell looked like it was the new head for this busted up toy.

My daughter wanted to know if I picked it up… :-D

I ended up grabbing it for her (without the sea shells!).

No, I didn’t touch it with my hands. I had napkins in my purse. :-D

Later, as my daughter was very thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting it with scalding hot water, she noticed some writing on its back.

The writing included a year, dating back to the early 1960’s.

So of course, she did some research to find out more about it. We figured it was some sort of commemorative toy harkening back almost 6 decades.

Nope.

It turns out this really is the remains of some antique toy!
