Stroganoff on a smoker?? (video)

Just watching a few videos with breakfast this morning and found a new cooking video from Quick Dick McDick.

Oh, my. He doesn’t go half way, that’s for sure!

Having to pause near the end to help deliver another calf was a nice touch. πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

I seriously want a smoker.

  1. We’ve had ours for years. You probably recall at least some of the stuff we’ve posted at the blog. One Christmas, the stove went out and we did the entire dinner on our pellet smoker, even the peppermint bark brownie for dessert.

Bottom line, anything can be smoked, and it always turns out awesome.

If you want a true “stick burner”, just make sure the metal isn’t too thin. You lose heat that way and go through more wood. There’s a moderately steep learning curve with temperature management also. Once you master it though, no problem. There are plans online for turning a 55 gallon steel drum into a smoker also. Maybe something you could pester your brother into helping with, hehe. I’d make sure the drum is hot tanked or better before use though. You don’t want chemical residue in your food.

If you want a pellet grill like ours (makes the work sooooo easy), Pit Boss makes good ones that are reasonably affordable but good quality. More than a few Texans at the BBQ forums I used to haunt swore by them. The only drawback is you need electric power for any pellet grill.
