As I write this, we are starting to wind down from several busy days. Christmas Day itself, we try to keep more of a quiet affair. The fifth candle of our advent wreath has been lit, we have had our dinner, and it is time to get some rest before we continue with our holiday activities.

Beep Beep is such a poser!
I sometimes wonder if she actually expects to catch any birds while up on the platform feeder, or if she’s just there for the view.

We’ve got a duo that visits regularly, and a trio – and sometimes, they all come at once!
I don’t know what has their attention out there, but I do know that sometimes, they get the attention of people driving by on the road! There isn’t much that can be seen through the lilac bushes along the fence, but it’s enough that I’ve seen people stop, turn around at the intersection, and slowly make their way back again, slowly.
Time like that, I think of the kinds of trees we’ll be planting as a windbreak all long the fence line.
We may be in the boonies, but sometimes it’s not boonies enough for me! :-D
Love it when the light brings out the incredible blues on our blue jays.
He seems to be giving me the side-eye, like he’s suspicious of me! :-D
Beep Beep was a co-operative subject again, while sitting on the platform feeder.

Look what I found, when doing my rounds this morning.
Our front gate was popped off its hinges, then set aside, upside down.
We know who did it, we have proof, and we intend to press charges. I’ve already called the RCMP.
This is ridiculous.

We see these two the most often. The little guy on the left in the photo is the one that tends to come into the feeding station at a run! Brightens my day, every time!
I just have to share something I got in the mail today, from a dear friend. She is so hilarious!!!! Check these out!
First, there’s the festive packing tape covering the box itself. Then there was the “snowfall” when it was opened, then there was the array of tiny little gifts for everyone – including treats and a skunk toy for the cats!
What a hoot!
