Just watching a few videos with breakfast this morning and found a new cooking video from Quick Dick McDick.
Oh, my. He doesn’t go half way, that’s for sure!
Having to pause near the end to help deliver another calf was a nice touch. ππ
I seriously want a smoker.
The Re-Farmer

LOL! My SIL has a smoker. They are awesome. He makes us smoked salt and herbs for Christmas. Smoked mac and cheese is just amazing. Also, just about any form of smoked pork is wonderful and often a less expensive meat.

We’ve had ours for years.βYou probably recall at least some of the stuff we’ve posted at the blog.βOne Christmas, the stove went out and we did the entire dinner on our pellet smoker, even the peppermint bark brownie for dessert.
Bottom line, anything can be smoked, and it always turns out awesome.
If you want a true “stick burner”, just make sure the metal isn’t too thin.βYou lose heat that way and go through more wood.βThere’s a moderately steep learning curve with temperature management also.βOnce you master it though, no problem.βThere are plans online for turning a 55 gallon steel drum into a smoker also.βMaybe something you could pester your brother into helping with, hehe.βI’d make sure the drum is hot tanked or better before use though.βYou don’t want chemical residue in your food.
If you want a pellet grill like ours (makes the work sooooo easy), Pit Boss makes good ones that are reasonably affordable but good quality.βMore than a few Texans at the BBQ forums I used to haunt swore by them.βThe only drawback is you need electric power for any pellet grill.
