The kittens have really been enjoying their newfound freedom.
Yesterday morning, they all discovered the ornamental apple trees in the old kitchen garden. At one point, we have 4 or 5 of them in one, and 3 in the other, all at the same time!
All that running around is very tiring.
This evening, while going through the yard, showing my friend around, we spotted one of the unsocialized mamas over by the junk pile near the living room.
My first thought was that it was Guildenstern with her baby, who live in the pile.
Until I realized Guildenstern was much closer.
Which had to mean that…
Yes!!! It is Rosencrantz and her baby!
This is the kitten that was in the pump shack that got moved out. It seems Rosencrantz brought her baby to join her sister and nephew in the junk pile.
This kitten is much younger than all the others. Such a cutie!!
This does confirm that there are only 2 kittens outside, now.
We were never able to socialize their mothers. I’m hoping we can do better with these two babies.
One more non-kitten picture to share with you. 🙂
While my friend and I continued touring the outer yard, we headed over to the back gate. While noticing that the daisies are starting to get to the end of their bloom time, I spotted some new splashes of colour.
We now have Black Eyes Susan blooming back there! Such hardy flowers, to be growing and blooming in such dry conditions.
It’s been quite a pleasant surprise to see so many plants and flowers this year, that we didn’t see last year.
