Compilation video

Part of my daily routine is to switch out the memory cards on the trail cams, then see what’s on them.

I was quite surprised to see a large number of files on the new camera, a couple of nights ago.

It turned out we had a lot of traffic going past it that night!

This is a compilation of the videos captured on that one night – the most I’ve ever seen. I was really thrilled when, in the wee hours of the morning, a big, 5 point buck showed up! (You’ll see him near the end of the above video) We have never seen this buck before, including in past trail cam captures.

This is just one area that the deer use to cross in and out of our yard. Thanks to the snow, I can see there is another spot along this fence that they jump over, that they did not use last year. They are also using a spot on the far side, along another fence line, where they cross a different road to and from our place.

From those spots, I can see their trails leading across the old garden area, under the apple trees, through the spruce and maple groves, crossing the fence along the garden area opposite where these videos were taken, through the yard and around the house, towards the barn, through the old hay yard, and even along the driveway.

There are a LOT more deer coming by than we ever see!

    • A couple of them are ones we normally see, I’m sure, but not all. In fact, I’m really excited about the fact that we saw the two new bucks just a little while ago! One is so much bigger than the 4 point we usually see. It looks like both of the new bucks are 5 points, too! The smaller one was pretty skittish and it was hard to count the points while it was moving around, but my daughter is pretty sure it was also 5 points.
