I took this screen shot at about noon. That was two hours ago.
It is currently -17C, with a “RealFeel” of -31C.
I’m glad I thought to check the temperatures before I headed out this morning, as the beautiful sunny day made it seem deceptively pleasant out there. And it was – on the south side of the house. As soon as I came around the corner to put out deer and bird feed, I got blasted with the wind from the north. It was blowing the deer feed away, as I poured it out of my bucket! At that time, it was -16C with a wind chill of -30C.
Which kind of changes my plans for the day.
Yesterday, I was planning to break out the snow blower to get those patches that have been causing me grief. I ended up going into town to pick up a whole bunch of prescription refills in the afternoon, instead. My younger daughter came along with me – getting accosted by cats on the way out.

The Outsider wanted up – but only to perch on her shoulder. Which was fine, right up until Beep Beep suddenly leapt up my daughter and clambered onto her other shoulder!

Which left her unable to pet either of them. :-D
Then we heard a scrambling from above, and there was Doom Guy, making his way down the tree in front of the kitchen window.

Meanwhile, the girls had asked me for a ride into the city to take in a movie. Which made dragging out the snow blower impractical. Instead, I just shoveled a bit more at the end of the driveway, to make sure I at least wouldn’t get stuck again, then we headed out to the city in the early evening.
The movie they treated me to was the new animated Spiderman movie, Into the Spider-verse.
It was absolutely amazing! Wow, did they ever do a good job with it. It had great plot and character development, excellent character design, fantastic animation, and it even sounded fantastic. I really love how well they did the alternate universe concept. Loved what they did with Doc Oc and Aunt May. Don’t let the fact that it’s animated throw you off; this ain’t no kids movie. It was a whole lot more believable than most live-action movies. We saw Aquaman not too long ago, which I also enjoyed for its entertainment value, but it had a lot of things going on that really felt like they got forced into the plot. Spiderman was much, much better. I would highly recommend it.
Anyhow; being out most of the day meant breaking out the snow blower was supposed to happen today, but there’s no point in doing it with such high winds.
Ah, well. We’ll deal.
The Re-Farmer

I will take my 22 degrees happily. Although they are calling for the arctic winds to shift here at the end of the month and next month. It has really been a fairly mild winter so far.

It has been. I kinda hope for more snow. 1) it would have to be warmer for snow and 2) the farmers get much needed moisture for their crops.

Yes. The farmers are saying any more warm ups and they will be in trouble here.
